Colak ready to beat the current national diving record with a +9 minute dive

The European and world champion and diving record holder Goran Colak (1983) is a Croatian diver, Diving Club member and member of the Croatian Geronimo diving team who successfully passed a prerequisite recently to bring down the national record of 8:47:06 min. He intends to break this record on 15 February at the International Boat Show at the Zagreb Nautical Fair.

He intends to break this record on 15 February at the International Boat Show at the Zagreb Fair in Hall 10a before licensed judges and set a new record of + 9 minutes.

  Colak has so far broken more than 30 national CMAS (Confederation Mondiale des Activites Subaquatiques) and AIDA (World Championship in freediving) records and was nominated for the Croatian athlete of the year award in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

  In 2009 he became the world champion and set a world record dive of 244 meters in the DYN discipline. In 2011 he became the world champion in the discipline freedive ( 273 meters ) and set a new world record, then, a champion in the discipline DNF ( 194 meters ), and the STA world champion with a score of 8.10 minutes. In 2012 he won the AIDA World Team Championship with his teammate (Veljan Zanki and Bozidar Petanij) winning first place as a team.

  In just three years ?olak managed to win 9 medals in world and European championships: He was a team world champion in free diving (depth + dynamics statics) AIDA 2012 (Topical), world champion in dynamic with fins AIDA 2011 (Current), world record with fins AIDA 2011 (Topical), world champion in the statics AIDA 2001 (Topical), vice world champion in dynamic without fins AIDA 2011 (Topical), world champion in dynamic with fins CMAS 2009 and 2011, multiple world record holder in CMAS dynamic with fins (topical), champion of Europe in dynamic with fins CMAS 2010, third place at the European Championship CMAS 2010 Jump Blue.
