Croatia set to become one of the most popular holiday destination for Swedes this summer

Croatia is an attractive destination for Swedes because of its rich and diverse tourist offer that includes natural attractions, culture and entertainment, says a Resia barometer survey

Croatia is set to become one of the most popular holiday destination for Swedes this summer,  the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) reported today after the news were published by the leading Swedish chain of travel agencies Resia. This is the first time that Croatia made it to the list of five most popular foreign destinations in Sweden such as  Spain, Turkey, Greece and Cyprus.

According to Resia barometer Swedes last year mostly travelled to Split, Dubrovnik and Zadar, partly due to nearby airports, while the total sales of the Croatian destinations last year rose by 50 percent. Croatia is an attractive destination for Swedes because of its rich and diverse tourist offer that includes natural attractions, culture and entertainment. The barometer says that the budget for the average Swedish family this year increased when compared to last year, and that most Swedes are looking for package tours, charter air travel and holiday programs.

The Swedish market is known for early booking which is increasingly done via mobile devices, especially tablets. In January tablets accounted for 10 percent of all booked trips in Sweden.
