Philippe Starck to be payed for his contribution to the design of Steve Jobs' superyacht

Superyacht Venus on Monday left the Amsterdam port after an advancement had been payed to designer Philippe Starck who has designed its interior

Steve Jobs' superyacht Venus left the Amsterdam port on Monday after an advancement had been payed to designer Philippe Starck who ordered that the 70-meter superyacht be impounded last week from the court investigators in Amsterdam. Starck stated an outstanding debt of over 3 million euro was behind the decision to impound the superyacht which, he said, is his contribution to the design of the superluxury yacht. Starck said that a fixed amount of 9 million euro will be payed to him, while Steve Jobs' attorneys added that a percentage of project costs will be payed to him, amounting to 6 million euro.

Up to now the yacht has been anchored in the Amsterdam harbour due to bad weather. Its construction cost over 100 million euro and Jobs' attorney Gerard Moussault said that Jobs and Starck were very close during the period when it was designed and construction started, stating that is the reason why there is no formal agreement on its construction. The yacht was produced in Aalsmeer in the Royal de Vries shipyard, while Philippe Starck designed its interior. The superyacht will be shipped by another boat to USA soon, where it will be taken over bu Jobs' widow Laurene Powell and their three children, Reed, Erin and Eve.
